Paul
Beashel
Paul
Beashel is Headteacher of The Deanes School, a DfEE designated
Sports College in Essex. Although originally from the West
Country he did most of his PE teaching in the London boroughs
of Barking and Dagenham. He is currently a member of the PEA
Committee and is a former Chief Examiner for physical education
examinations. Paul's main sporting achievements were in athletics
(pole vault), gymnastics and rugby. Today he is as enthusiastic
as ever but his body is failing to keep up. His sports now
include golf, cycling and the occasional game of tennis. He
looks forward to his grandchildren getting as much out of
sport as he has done.
Andy
Sibson
Andy
Sibson was born and raised in Leicestershire and is an avid
fan of all teams from his home county. He is Director of Communications
at Cavendish School, Eastbourne. He is an experienced PE teacher
and Fellow of the PEA. As a Volleyball coach and player Andy
has enjoyed working with many young people and has achieved
some success. His major sporting achievement during the 1960s
was the Ribena 400 yard swimming award. Since then it has
all been downhill! Andy's most recent memorable sporting moment
was seeing Leicester Tigers win the European Cup in Paris
in May 2001.
John
Taylor
John
Taylor has lived most of his life in and around London. Most
of his PE career was spent in the London Borough of Newham
where he first introduced examinations in PE. He is a former
Deputy Headteacher and Chief Examiner for Physical Education
examinations. John's sports included football, squash and
canoeing. He still staggers around the squash court and is
working hard to keep a 10 off his card in golf. John's favourite
sporting achievement was completing the Devizes to Westminster
canoe race using a calendar instead of a stopwatch!
